Friday, October 24
Mark your calendars for a networking event this Friday, October 24. Meet fellow LBJers interested in local government. Hear from alumni, faculty, and students, including:
Sarah Eckhard (MPAff 1998), candidate for Travis County Judge and Brewster McCraken (MPAff 1995) president and CEO of Pecan Street, Inc.
Light food and beverages are provided. This is a free event. Be sure to register here. This event is co-sponsored by the Austin Area Alumni Chapter and the Citizens for Local and State Service (CLASS).
Professional development funds are a great way to help offset the costs to attend conferences, go to out of town job interviews, or take part in some networking events. Please remember that funds are limited and that not all events qualify for reimbursement. Check out the application for additional details.
Is your student organization doing some cool things you want the rest of the school to know about? Want to serve lunch but don’t have the funds? GPAC-sponsored lunch events are a great way to get a sandwich and see what’s going on across the school. The events are held every Wednesday from 12:15-1:30 in 3.124. Reservation requests are taken on a first come, first served basis. Please note, December 3 is the only remaining date for the fall. Please contact Miranda Hoff (firstname.lastname@example.org) to secure a time for the spring.
